Ian Mulder
Ian Mulder is a Canadian artist and designer with a particular interest in large-scale monumental art and design projects, including murals, post-architectural lighting, and community public projects. Born in Ottawa in 1978, Ian has traveled, studied, and produced work abroad, experience that is deeply influential to his practice and understanding of the visual arts and their place in public space. Ian has studied at the University of British Columbia, the University of Alberta, and Middle Eastern Technical University (Ankara, Turkey). Ian Mulder is currently a graduate student at the University of Toronto, Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, working toward his Masters Degree in Architecture. (M.Arch)
About Mulder Studios
Mulder Studios is an Edmonton, Alberta-based studio that takes on many kinds of public and decorative art projects in and around western Canada. From large-scale painted murals, to community projects, as well as various miscellaneous endeavors, Ian Mulder has a keen interest in post-architectural improvement to private and public space. The studio is often engaged in collaborations with schools, private business, community groups and NGOs, facilitating and producing projects, workshops, and educational programs.
