Having worked since 2004 to put this project together, it is with great relief that IT IS FINALLY COMPLETE! We have just installed a 40’ LED curtain behind the glass block element on the front face of the tower. It can be programmed to any one of thousands of colours to glow, pulse, blink, or whatever. It is a dynamic effect and completes the “lantern” look of the structure at night…
We have completed the painted portion of the design…also installed horizontal bands of extruded aluminum. The white LEDs are up and working…awaiting full spectrum lights for behind glass block.
Ian Mulder has two paintings up at the Artery from January 24 to February 24, 2008. The Advantaged is a show curated by Amelia Shultz-McPherson and Anna Coe and is a group show of contemporary artists from Edmonton and Calgary. The two paintings are entitled, “Boom Town Rock”, and “Daisy.“
